Saturday's FBF Race is CANCELLED

All, This Saturday's Brooklyn Spring Series race at Floyd Bennett Field is cancelled. While most of the snow from last week's snow has melted on the course the resulting affect is huge lake-like puddles have formed on the course and it's not safe to have the race. With more rain/snow predicted this week the decision has been made now to cancel the race. Please join us for the next Brooklyn Spring Series race at Floyd Bennett Field on Saturday, March 20. Title Sponsors Named for KOM and Sprint Competitions at the Lucarelli & Castaldi Cup

The Kissena Cycling Club is pleased to announce that title sponsors have been named for the KOM and Sprint Competitions at the Lucarelli & Castaldi Cup Prospect Park Series. Everlast Sports Nutrition has been named the title sponsor of the KOM Competition and The Coyle Group at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney has been named the title sponsor of the Sprint Competition.

"The KOM and Sprint Competitions were started last year and the riders loved them. They breathed new life into the Prospect Park races and allowed more opportunities for other racers to showcase their talents. By the end of the series entire teams were battling it out to win the coveted polka dot and green jerseys" stated Charlie Issendorf, Kissena's Race Director. "Having Everlast Sports Nutrition and The Coyle Group at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney as title sponsors allowed us to continue these very popular competitions for 2010".

FBF This Sunday: Start Racing!

OK, enough already with the indoor trainers and group rides - let's just start racing! The Season Starter Road Race will take place at Brooklyn's Floyd Bennett Field on Sunday, February 21. There will be races for Women, Cat 5, Cat 3-4 and Cat 1-2-3. Lucarelli & Castaldi Named Title Sponsor of Prospect Park Series

The Kissena Cycling Club is pleased to announce the Law Firm of Lucarelli & Castaldi has been named the title sponsor of the 2010 Prospect Park Race Series. The Lucarelli & Castaldi Cup combines the seven Prospect Park races into an overall competition for the Pro/1-2-3, Category 4 and Category 5 categories.

"We're excited to have Lucarelli & Castaldi as the title sponsor" said Charlie Issendorf, Kissena Cycling Club Race Director. "Lucarelli & Castaldi sponsored the KOM Competition at last year's race series and stepped up to become the title sponsor for 2010. The Laura Van Guilder Supporters Club is at it again. Another race for her to hone her skills and help pay for her trip to the Cyclocross Worlds. www.bikereg.com/events/register.asp?eventid=9848 She probably needs to be thrown in to a huge field of aggressive racers who aren't going to give her an inch of room to get ready for worlds. If you can get there easily, seems like a reason to go. But, if it takes effort, like renting a car, or filling a whole tank of gas, it might be better just to donate that money straightaway.
